Five Standout For Four-Star WR Steffon McKnight

Nov. 16 -- San Diego (Calif.) Mira Mesa wide out Steffon McKnight has yet to set up any of his official visits but said he's very close to doing so...

It's a deep year for receivers out West and San Diego standout Steffon McKnight is easily one of the best.

McKnight is an explosive kid who has looked good on both sides of the ball this season. He has a long, athletic frame and looks good at corner but is a natural at receiver as well. He runs well, has soft hands and can make plays down the field.

On the recruiting front, McKnight said he's focusing on five schools right now and is hopeful of setting up his visits soon.

"I want to visit UCLA, Arizona State, USC, Washington and Cal," McKnight said. "I'm going to set up those up real soon here and I do want to try and take all five if I can.

"UCLA and ASU are the two schools recruiting me the hardest right now. I have a good relationship with the coaches there. I talked to Coach Wilson at USC earlier today and I'm talking with Cal and Washington too. I'm planning on making my decision on Signign Day but if I know sooner than that, I could do it earlier, maybe sometime in January as well."
