Jayon Brown talked after the Utah game Saturday.
If you can't view the above video, here's another version:
On the defensive performance:
As a defense, we want to keep everyone out of the end zone. Limit them to three or no points. Our D-Line and DB's did a good job in limiting them. We made adjustments throughout the whole game. We got contained and just had to modify that. The DB's did a good job locking down their receivers.
On the fumble recovery at the end:
It was a great feeling, knowing how last week, we didn't finish. This time around, we held it down for our offense.
On limited Utah to 3 yards rushing in fourth quarter:
In some packages, we just tried and our players made plays when we needed to. It was just a good job for the defense.
On if last week's ending keyed this week's ending:
Yeah, that hung with us all week, because we felt like we let the offense down, because they came back to get us the lead and we let them down. It was a big game.
On if it feels sweet:
It does feel good and now we get to go fight for the Pac-12 South Championship next week against our rivals. At the beginning of the year, this was our goal.
On if this game means more:
Its always a big rivalry, and now that there is more on it, we're excited and can't wait to get to it.
On stopping Utah in the red zone:
We try to be stingy in the red zone. As a run stopper, you have to hit your gaps and get contain and get a loss for yards.
On if the base defense worked better:
Our base defense did a good job, they weren't able to run on that. That's what we had on the goalline.
On playing some mike:
I feel important. It was good having Kenny Clark and Eli Ankou in front of me and they did a good job keeping their gap. I feel way comfortable with it. I've been practicing it more.
