Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral 2017 defensive end Hunter Echols had a big day on Wednesday, with three Pac-12 offers coming in.
Echols started the day with an offer from Utah.
Then Washington State followed suit a couple of hours later.
By the time the night was done, Echols got his third Pac-12 offer, from UCLA.
And the offer from the Bruins was a big one for him.
"I got that UCLA offer and that's my dream school," said Echols. "My family is going crazy."
Echols had said an offer from the Bruins could end his recruitment early, but he's not quite ready to pull the trigger.
"I was a little tempted, but I'm probaby not committing yet," said Echols. "But I have very high interest in UCLA."
Echols said he'll visit UCLA next week.
The three Pac-12 offers follow his first offer from San Jose State.
On the season, Echols has 39 tackles, 37 quarterback hurries, 27 tackles for loss and 17 sacks. He also broke up four passes, recovered three fumbles and forced two of them.
He's the second player from Cathedral the Bruins have offered in the 2017 class, joining safety Rhedi Short, who committed to the Bruins.
