Prospect Recap: Week Fifteen

Dec. 7 -- We look at how UCLA prospects did in week fifteen of the high school football season...

**Game of the Week:***  Corona (Calif.) Centennial def. Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, 62-52

The showdown all Southern California went to the Huskies for the second straight year, with Centennial holding off the Braves and earn the SoCal Open Division spot.  With a host of UCLA coaches in attendance, Bruin target Javon McKinley had seven catches for 132 yards and a touchdown and threw a 65-yard touchdown pass on a double pass.  Braves quarterback Quentin Davis, who UCLA went to see, injured his shoulder early in the game and was knocked out.

Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty def. Clovis (Calif.), 56-21

UCLA linebacker commit Krys Barnes and the Patriots kept rolling, with their ninth straight win, giving them the CIF-Central Section title and moving them on in the CIF State playoffs.  UCLA head coach Jim Mora and linebackers coach Scott White were in attendance to see Barnes.

Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne def. Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw, 57-21

Narbonne won its fifth City Section title in the past eight years, pounding Crenshaw in the finals.   UCLA commit Alex Akingbulu and the rest of the Gauchos had their eighth 50+ point game on the season and move on to the CIF State D-I regionals.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Fairfax def. Los Angeles (Calif.), 31-16

In easily one of the biggest upsets of the weekend, Fairfax beat a stacked Los Angeles team, which had UCLA 2017 four-star defensive line target Martin Andrus leading the previously unbeaten Romans, and earned the City Section D-II title

La Mesa (Calif.) Helix def. San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine, 44-30

With UCLA offensive line coach Adrian Klemm there to see Bruin commit Mike Alves, the Saints fell short in the CIF-San Diego Section title game against a loaded Helix team.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle def. Pleasanton (Calif.) Foothill, 35-0

The Spartans, led by UCLA targets Boss Tagaloa and Devin Asiasi, won their 24th straight CIF-NCS title and a spot in the CIF Open Division Bowl Game in two weeks.  Asiasi had two catches for 22 yards, four tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss while Tagaloa had two tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss in the shutout.

Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy defe. Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy, 53-55 (2OT)

With UCLA tight end commit Jordan Wilson sidelined with an injury, Montgomery Bell Academy lost to Brentwood Academy by a point in double-overtime.

Molson have completed their season.  West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade and UCLA athlete commit Dymond Lee have completed their season. Rialto (Calif.) Carter and UCLA linebacker commit Lokeni Toailoa and safety commit Leni Toailoa have completed their season.  Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward and UCLA defensive end commit Breland Brandt have completed their season. Portland (Ore.) David Douglas and UCLA defensive line commit Osa Odighizuwa have completed their season. Encino (Calif.) Crespi and UCLA defensive end commit Marcus Moore and fullback commit Jalen Starks have completed their season.  Hayward (Calif.) Moreau Catholic and long snapper commit Johnny Den Bleyker have completed their season. Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral and 2017 UCLA safety commit Rhedi Short have completed their season. Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian and UCLA 2017 linebacker commit Rahyme Johnson have completed their season.  Covington (Ga.) Newton and UCLA 2017 linebacker commit Jaquan Henderson have completed their season.  Torrance (Calif.) North and UCLA linebacker target Mique Juarez have completed their season. Fontana (Calif.) Summit and UCLA receiver prospect Damian Alloway have completed their season.
