Three-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence punter Austin Kent committed to UCLA on Thursday night, just a few weeks after being offered.
It was really important for UCLA to get Kent, considering the Bruins had already lost a commitment from punter Bailey Raborn, and considering how bad UCLA's punter situation was this year. It got so bad this season that UCLA had to use a wide receiver as a punter for a stretch, and he, at one point, managed to kick a 0 yard punt.
Kent is the third special teams commitment in this class for UCLA, as the Bruins have also taken verbal commitments from a kicker and a long snapper.
We'll have more from Kent shortly.
