College Football Recruiting: Top 10 TEs in the Class of 2016

Dec. 23 -- The Race to National Signing Day continues with a breakdown of the top 10 tight ends in the 2016 class...

1. Isaac Nauta, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

The nation's top tight end narrowed it down to Alabama, Georgia and Michigan in preparation for his announcement in January.

2. Kaden Smith, Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus

The top tight end in Texas made an early decision to commit to Stanford and he's been locked in with the Cardinal since April.

3. Octavious Cooley, Laurel (Miss.)

Cooley committed even earlier than Smith, choosing home state Mississippi last December, another Scout Top 50 commit to the Rebels.

4. Devin Asiasi, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle

The West's top tight end has been a two-way star for the Spartans' state championship squad and Alabama, UCLAUSC and Washington are standing out to the four-star.

5. Jake Hausmann, Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller

The top tight end in the Midwest committed to home-state Ohio State almost a year ago and should be a big part of the Buckeyes offense moving forward.

6. Naseir Upshur, Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep

The Florida State pledge made a big impact for Imhotep, leading them to a state championship, the first Philadelphia Public League team to ever win a state crown.

7. Jamal Pettigrew, New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine

Despite his commitment to LSU, neighboring Texas is trying to get into the Bayou and steal him from the Tigers.

8. Jacob Mathis, Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep

Mathis has visited Michigan already and will visit Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Ole Miss in January before he makes his decision.

9. Mark Birmingham, Ashburn (Va.) Briar Woods

The top tight end in Virginia committed to Duke over a year ago and the Blue Devils are happy to have kept him solidly in this class despite other schools still trying with him.

10. Luke Farrell, Perry (Ohio)

Farrell joins Hausmann as another in-state top ten tight end staying home to play for Ohio State.
