After a tremendous junior season, Xach Gill continues to attract interest from college coaches all over the country. The four-star junior defensive lineman spoke with Scout about the latest developments in his recruitment.
“I think I’m at 13 or 14 offers right now,” Xach Gill said. “But the schools I’m in contact with the most are North Carolina, NC State, Georgia and UCLA. Georgia is the only one of those schools who hasn’t offered, but I think they could be close.
“It really means a lot to me that they are showing so much interest. I really like the coaching staffs and the way they do things at all four schools.”
Boston College was the latest school to offer.
“The offer means a lot,” said the 6-foot-4 ½, 284-pound Gill. “They’re a team that has a great defense. I could see myself visiting at some point – probably in the spring.”
Besides the aforementioned schools, Gill also holds offers from LSU, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest among others.
The spring will be a busy time for North Carolina’s top-ranked 2017 defensive tackle.
“I’m pretty sure I’m going to try to get to all the in-state schools,” Gill said. “I’ll probably also go to Georgia, Boston College and UCLA.”
Gill has a timeline for his decision and knows what he is looking for at the next level.
“I’m still wide open with things, but I’m probably going to narrow it down to 10 schools in the spring,” he said. Ultimately, I’d like to make my decision after the season.
“The main factors are going to be what’s best for me and my family, academics and a place where I fit in well.”
