Three-star offensive guard Francisco Perez visited UCLA this weekend and it's safe to say he was impressed with what he saw.
"My visit overall was great," Perez said. "It was overwhelming to see everything UCLA has to offer to a student-athlete. My highlight of the trip would definitely be finally being able to walk the Rose Bowl and see all the equipment they have for athletes."
Perez is a California commitment, but there was a lot of thought coming into the weekend that this visit could prove pretty compelling, and might perhaps induce Perez to flip his commitment. While it doesn't appear that happened on the visit, Perez said he does have a lot to think about now.
"I want to first talk to my dad about it and tell him how my trip was, but it was great," Perez said of his decision timeframe. "I have not decided when I will make a final decision, but I would say it could come in the next one to two weeks."
Perez was hosted on his visit by UCLA starting lef tackle Conor McDermott.
"Conor's a great guy," Perez said. "I spent most of my time with him, Coach Adrian Klemm, and Coach Blake Bentz. They are all great. They know how to make you have a good time."
He said the message from the coaches and players was that he'd hhave the opportunity to compete for playing time early.
"They told me how they need linemen, and I will probably be playing guard," Perez said. "They want me coming in with a mindset to compete and get a lot of reps."
