Jordan Wilson Talks UCLA Official

Jan. 18 -- Jordan Wilson, the longtime UCLA tight end commitment, tripped to UCLA this weekend and learned a little bit about his role in the new look offense...

Three-star tight end Jordan Wilson took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend, and he said it was everything he hoped it would be.

"It was amazing," Wilson said. "It was all great, but the highlight for me, I'd have to say, was the breakfast at the Rose Bowl. That was my favorite part."

Wilson, who was hosted by Eldridge Massington but spent a lot of time with Conor McDermott, also spent a good deal of time talking with the coaching staff about his role in the offense.

"I spent a good amoutn of time with Coach Polamalu," Wilson said of UCLA's new offensive coordinator. "We talked about how I'll be featured in our offense in many ways, such as tight end, slot, and wide receiver. He also just talked to me about how I'll be a vertical threat and block in the run game."

Coach Jim Mora also had a message for Wilson

"Both Coach Polamalu and Coach Mora really emphasized to me that they're expecting me to not only contribute to the team this year but play a vital role in our success," Wilson said.

This was also an opportunity for Wilson to meet new tight ends coach Rip Scherer in person.

"He's a very experienced coach and also a pretty cool guy," Wilson said of Scherer. "We also watched a little film together."

Wilson said he was also recruiting a little bit on the visit, considering how many uncommitted guys were there as well, and he thinks a few guys could commit.

"We hung out a lot," Wilson said of the other visitors. "I think Aaron Hansford and Devon Modster will commit. Maybe Kentrell Love as well."

Wilson said he is all wrapped up with visits and is locked into being a Bruin.
