UCLA Still A Player for London

The linebacker from Virginia, Justin London, who came to the San Diego Nike Camp primarily to get UCLA to notice him still likes UCLA and the Bruins are recruiting him...

Justin London, 6-2, 225, Roanoke (Virg.) Northside, has started off his season well, collecting a total of 23 tackles in two games and two sacks.

Since college coaches were permitted to call prospects on September 1st, about 15 schools have called London.

Among those, London said his favorites were Tennessee, Virginia Tech, UCLA, North Carolina State and Virginia. "All of them have offered, except UCLA. I haven't gotten an offer from them in writing and every time the UCLA coaches call I haven't been here so I haven't talked to them yet."

London, though, said he isn't going to be making a decision anytime soon. "I want to take as many trips as possible," he said. "I'd like to take trips to all of those schools, those five. Right now I have an official visit set up with NC State on December 7th. I want to definitely visit Virginia Tech and Tennessee. I'm setting up those trips right now. And hopefully UCLA. And I want to visit Virginia. Virginia is recruiting me the hardest."

With most of his schools pretty close to his home in Virginia, you'd think that London would have a preference for staying close to home for school. "Most of the schools are within 4 or 5 hours of my house. Tennessee is about five hours away. NC State is four and a half. But I really don't have a preference. My parents don't have a preference either. They're leaving it up to me. I wouldn't mind going across the country if I wanted to."

London said he would feel comfortable in California, since he has relatives in the area. When he came to California for the San Diego Nike Camp, he stayed with an uncle in San Diego.

London said he has a 2.5 overall GPA and scored a 970 on his SAT.
