UCLA Renews Recruitment of Maxs Tupai

Feb. 2 -- UCLA has re-started its recruitment of the #29-ranked defensive end in the nation, Maxs Tupai. Will he officially visit with Signing Day tomorrow?

UCLA has renewed its recruitment of Maxs Tupai, the defensive end prospect from Murray (Utah).

Tupai, who UCLA recruited early on in the 2016 cycle, appeared to be down to Utah, USC, Oklahoma and Oregon State. He had officially visited Oklahoma, Oregon State and USC.

Tupai is now planning to hold off on a decision, not sign tomorrow (on National Signing Day), and officially visit UCLA this weekend (Jan. 5th).

UCLA's recruitment of Tupai rebooted when the Bruins hired quarterbacks coach Marques Tuiasosopo last month. Tuiasosopo has deep ties to the Polynesian community and one of his recruiting responsibilities for UCLA is Utah.
