Breaking Down UCLA QB Recruiting and Who Could Be Next On Their Board

Mar. 15 -- UCLA has finished runner up for a couple of top quarterback prospects and looks to be running No. 2 for another top target. Where will they go from here?

UCLA has a big need for an elite quarterback in the 2017 class and has already finished runner up for both Ryan Kelley (Oregon) and Dylan McCaffrey (Michigan).

Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis standout Tua Tagovailoa is currently the top guy on their board but the Bruins are currently trailing USC and the strong armed lefty will make a decision sometime late in the summer.

So what other options are on the board for UCLA? The top guy could be San Clemente's (Calif.) Jack Sears. We saw Sears at The Opening Regional Camp in L.A a few weeks ago and mentioned he didn't have the same velocity that we've seen in the past.

Come to find out, Sears competed with a strained SI joint in his back that hindered his motion and ability to rotate through on his throws. He was probably only about 75% healthy at the time but is recovering nicely and should be 100% full bore when the spring evaluation period kicks off April 15.

A few other options for UCLA could be Newport Beach (Calif.) Corona Del Mar's Chase Garbers, who has had a very strong winter, Wilsonville (Ore.) 4-star Connor Neville, who we've liked since he was just a freshman, and fast rising Villa Park (Calif.) signal caller Nick Sipe.
