Myles Jack Talks UCLA Pro Day NFL Draft

Mar. 15 -- Former UCLA linebacker Myles Jack spoke following his Pro Day performance on campus...

Check out video of former UCLA linebacker Myles Jack talking about his Pro Day performance on campus:

On being back out at UCLA:

It felt good. I haven’t been back here in a long time. It felt good to move around.  It wasn’t where I wanted it to be, but I wanted to showcase there was nothing wrong with the knee.  Just getting back in to football shape.  Im ready to move to being an NFL player.

On being cleared:

I got cleared to do lateral movement.

On what percentage healthy he is:

I’d say 80%.  I wanted to make it apparent there is nothing wrong with the knee.   I’m a football player. It will take weeks of training, but I’ll get there.

On the attention on him:

Its a cool experience, but kind of weird. Having your guys undivided attention is cool.  Having guys who respect how you play.

On if he talked to scouts:

I talked to a few of them.  They were happy with my jumps. It was ok for me. I felt good.  That was the first time I’d really done that since I got injured.  I could do all those drills. I think I have a workout with the Chaegrs at some point.

On what’s next:

Its grind time. I go back to Tempe tomorrow and work.  Do my workouts, my team visits, get drafted and OTA’s.

On working on April 1:

Correct, I’ll probably do it here, run a 40-yard dash, get myself on the clock.  I’d say a 4.6, 4.5, I could live with that.  A 40-inch vert is nowhere near my best.

On if he benched:

I benched at the combine.  I have my retake.  They said if I did my pro day, I wouldn’t have to do my retake.

On what his goal recovery time:

I would say I’m right where I want to be.  It was a time preference.  It was a six month injury so I’m hitting all the marks I wanted to be. I’m right where I want to be. It all played out how I wanted it to.

On if he went to the spot he got injured:

I didn’t. I didn’t even think about that.

On his conversations with Jim Mora about the draft:

Really just be who you are.  He just told me to be myself, don’t put on an act. Don’t try to sound like a perfect kid. Speak intelligently.  He has faith in me. He’s behind me 100%. He told me to be me.

On not having enough tape when he declared for the draft:

I got both sides of the fence.  That’s why it was important I came out.  To show it’s not an urban legend or myth that I was moving around.

On if he’ll be ready on April 1:

I should be.  I just got cleared to run on January 22nd after not running for four months.
