Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum defensive lineman Victor Jones (6-4, 230), has five offers already, but a number of schools have been talking with him and he's hoping to hit double-digits by the end of the spring evaluation period.
More schools have been talking with him though.
Jones has visited Cal for their Junior Day and the NorCal native said the Bears are high on his list.
"Oh yeah, Cal is a great school with a great program and close to home," said Jones. "I really like Cal a lot."
Jones checked out UCLA over the weekend.
"UCLA seems really interested and that's been a dream school for me," said Jones. "I loved it over there. UCLA has a beautiful campus. Coach Angus (McClure) was there and he's recruiting me and said he's going to come watch me in spring ball."
Next month, Jones will visit Nevada for their Junior Day and he's hoping to visit Cal, Utah and UCLA again more extensively later in the spring.
Jones plays defensive end for Inderkum but said playing outside linebacker in college isn't out of the question.
"I'm 230 right now, so I could play that outside linebacker spot, but I'm hoping to get up to 240-245 by the time I get to college," said Jones.
Academically, Jones has a 3.6 GPA and took the SAT earlier this month.
He'll be at The Opening Oakland regional in May.
