Four-star DE Jaelan Phillips Talks UCLA, Stanford Battle

Mar. 21 -- One of the nation's most coveted pass-rushers broke down his leaders, UCLA and Stanford, at the Passing Down tournament...

There might be looming visits to USC and Notre Dame in the coming weeks, but four-star defensive end Jaelan Phillips made it clear it's a battle between childhood favorite UCLA and Stanford for his commitment.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect from Redlands (Calif.) East Valley grew up a Bruins fan, with numerous family members, including his father, having gone to school there, but a recent visit to Palo Alto left a major impression.

Phillips is set to stop by USC next week and then take another unofficial to UCLA before heading off to South Bend to check out what the Fighting Irish have to offer. He told Bruin Report Online he intends to make a commitment following his spring practice schedule at the end of May or early June.
