Eli Ankou Breaks Down UCLA's Defensive Front

Mar. 30 -- An important contributor for the defensive front spoke to the media about new leadership responsibilities...

After the first practice of the spring, Eli Ankou caught up with reporters to break down how UCLA is dealing with the departure of top tier defensive tackle prospect Kenneth Clark.

Watch the video below:

On the defensive changes:

We’re shuffling the personnel a little bit and finding where everyone works out best.  We have some defensive guys gone so leadership is stepping up.

On his own changes:

As far as schematics, the first day, I can’t tell too much the new stuff we’re doing, but its pretty much the same, more window dressing.  The psychological aspect, being an older guy helps. Overall, the whole D-Line is able to hold themselves up.

On no Kenny Clark:

We move on. Kenny Clark had a great career and he’ll do well when he gets to the league, but we have to move on.

On if Eddie Vanderdoes will return this spring:

I’m not sure.

On their comfort level with Tom Bradley:

Absolutely comfortable. Every day we get more comfortable with him. He’s a joy to be around, a players coach, and he knows his stuff.
