Four-Star WR CeeDee Lamb Talks Top 10 List and UCLA Offer

May 25 -- Matt Stepp of The Old Coach caught up with CeeDee Lamb at a seven-on-seven tournament this weekend to recap some of his recent recruiting developments...

CeeDee Lamb, a 6-foot-2, 172-pound wide receiver from Richmond (Texas) Foster, recently named a Top 10 of AlabamaLSUAuburnTennesseeBaylorOklahomaOklahoma StateFloridaMississippi and Texas A&M.

He was at one time committed to Oklahoma, but decommitted to evaluate all of his options. Now he is balancing his schedule with recruiting.

"It is crazy," Lamb said. "I have eight hours of school, three hours of practice and the rest is just homework and go to sleep, but I have to fit in the recruiting process because it is the next step in my life."

Shortly after releasing that Top 10 list he picked up an offer from UCLA, which could now factor into his decision making process.

"I was excited considering they had always been one of my favorites," Lamb explained of the UCLA offer. "They may just hop into my Top 10, but as of right now I can not give you an exact list, but they will definitely be in there."

When it comes down to it Lamb is looking for a place that he can play on the next level. When narrowing down his list further and trying to pick a college to play at he will factor in playing time and finding a staff to push his game to the next level.

"Give me the opportunity to play as a true freshman," Lamb said. "and help me with my dream to get into the NFL."

Lamb would like to major in Sports Medicine.

He checks in as the No. 289 prospect in the Scout Top 300 and is a four-star prospect.

Scout Evaluation: Lamb is a versatile receiver prospect with the speed to take the top off defenses. Possesses sudden athleticism that allows quickness off the snap, separation from DB's, and good top-end speed downfield. Home run threat over the top and as a run-after-catch playmaker. Quick feet that allow for sudden cutbacks as a receiver and return man. Plays in all three phases for competitive Texas Class 5A program. Lacks ideal bulk but possesses frame to add significant weight. That would also help with improving strength. Willing blocker who looks for big hit on crackback opportunities. Talented receiver prospect who projects to high-major level. - Gabe Brooks

Lamb enjoyed a breakout junior season with 54 catches for 1,012 yards and 10 touchdowns on 18.7 yards per reception. He also ran six times for 52 yards and added one interception on defense.
