The above video features sophomore highlights of 2018 quarterback Alan Bowman from Grapevine High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The 6-foot-2 1/2, 198-pound Bowman already has two years of varsity starting experience under his belt, plus plenty of camp appearances this summer. Bowman, a Penn State legacy, has competed at camps put on by Arkansas, Houston, Iowa State, Michigan, Missouri, Northwestern, Oklahoma, and SMU.
Bowman has good size and the demeanor you like to see from quarterback prospects. He's confident and assertive, even at an early age, and should continue to become more and more poised as he continues to develop. Bowman throws with great touch on deep routes. He sells play fakes and shows the ability to throw on the run in both directions. He shows good velocity in the short-to-intermediate range and displays excellent accuracy on those throws.
As a sophomore in 2015, Bowman enjoyed a breakout season. He threw for 2,711 yards, 27 touchdowns, and only six interceptions as he led Grapevine High School to an 8-3 record and a playoff berth in Texas' Class 5A, the state's second-largest of five classifications.
Bowman took over as Grapevine's starter early in his freshman year. In eight games in 2014, he threw for 1,750 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
