UCLA Commit Jaelan Phillips At The Opening

July 8 -- BEAVERTON, Ore. — Scout 100 defensive end Jaelan Phillips is a UCLA legacy, and after giving all schools a shot, he decided he wanted to be a Bruin too...

Jaelan Phillips is a big-time talent.  He is 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, and he is a five star prospect on Scout.

He is the No. 3 defensive end and No. 28 overall prospect.

As a prospect, Phillips has a great frame and moves very well for a big man. He plays primarily outside linebacker and shows the athleticism to drop in to coverage, play in space and is a naturally gifted pass rusher. He's very fluid in his movement showing excellent lateral mobility and covers a ton of ground. With his size and growth potential, Phillips projects best a pass rushing defensive end at the next level. He shows off a great first step, a nice burst off the edge, violent hands and the speed to run down a play from behind.

In this interview, Phillips talks abougt his commitment to UCLA, how it feels to be selected for The Opening Finals, what he thinks sets him apart and more.
