Lamont Wade, the No. 3 cornerback in the East and the No. 18 prospect in the nation, showed his suffocating style of play during the first day of 7-on-7 play at The Opening. Even in the no-tackle competition, Wade was physical when he played press coveraged and jammed receivers at the line of scrimmage.
Wade also showed his exceptional change of direction, and was able to explode out of breaks to stay on the back hip of the receiver and excel in coverage.
The Clairton (Pa.) High standout made plays down the field and in the flat. In addition, he was able to track receivers through traffic over the middle and make plays.
Wade said he has will make all five official visits before his Dec. 16 announcement, and he already set trips to Tennessee (Sept. 24 vs. Florida), UCLA (Nov. 19 vs. USC) and Alabama (Nov. 26 vs. Auburn).
