Five-Star RB Najee Harris Talks Alabama Commitment

July 11 -- Antioch (Calif.) running back Najee Harris has more than lived up to his lofty ranking this week at The Opening...

Although a long time Alabama Crimson Tide commit, running back Najee Harris has been rumored to be looking around and not rock solid on his verbal, almost since the day he gave it.

Harris committed to the Tide way back in April of 2015 in a move that surprised many. There has been rampant speculation that at some point in time, Harris might flip to another school or open his recruitment but the athlete sounded pretty solid in his pledge on Saturday.

"I like Alabama a lot," Harris said. "I've been there so many times so I'm very comfortable and have a good relationship with the coaches and players. I was there for their camp last month and had a really good time and right now, Alabama is the only school I'm focusing on."

Harris recently visited USC for the Trojans Rising Stars Camp and has shown interest in Ohio State and UCLA in the past.

"USC is cool, they treated me well," Harris said. "Ohio State, Georgia, UCLA, they're all cool but to be honest, I'm not even thinking about recruiting or taking visits. I know everyone wants to ask me about that and it's their job and all but I'm really not thinking about visits or other schools at all right now.

"My whole focus is on Antioch football and winning a title this season. That's really it, that's all I care about right now. Antioch football is what's on my mind and I'm working as hard as I can to lead my team and that's all I care about."

Harris has been tremendous this week and even in a strong year for running backs, he has really stood out. For a big back, pushing almost 6-foot-3, he has surprised many with his agility and quickness. He made The Opening Finals a year ago and just looks more comfortable this year.

"I know everyone this year, last year, I didn't know anyone," Harris said. "I have a lot of friends this year, guys I'm close with that I can joke around with. I kind of kept to myself last year so I'm really enjoying the experience out here and having a lot of fun."
