Schools still coming hard for Stephen Carr

July 11 -- Fontana (Calif.) Summit running back Stephen Carr had a strong week at The Opening Finals this past week and showed why he's among the nation's best at his position...

It's a deep year for running backs this year but Stephen Carr takes a backseat to no one.

Carr, currently rated the No. 2 RB and No. 7 player in the nation, is one of those backs who does everything well. He has a great frame, is a powerful runner with quickness, speed, the ability to change direction and shows great hands out of the backfield.

On the recruiting front, Carr is a longtime USC commit but does plan to take all five of his official visits.

"I don't have any dates or even schools picked out yet," Carr said. "Schools like ArizonaArizona StateLSU, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska, UCLA and Washington are all recruiting me heavily right now.

"Washington was my first offer and you always remember that first one. I already visited Miami and Michigan and had really good visits there and UCLA is one me hard right now as well."

Carr said he has a very good relationship with the Trojan coaches and stays in constant contact with them.

"I talk with USC on a regular weekly basis," Carr said. "I like Coach Helton a lot and I stay in good contact with Tommie Robinson, the RB coach.

"Right now, I'm not really focusing that much on recruiting. I'm focused on my team at Summit but I'll figure out the visits later on. I plan to take all five and enjoy the experience but my commitment to USC is very solid right now."
