Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum defensive back Trajon Cotton plans to make his list a little shorter by the time the season starts.
"The list is going to get smaller," said Cotton. "I'm probably going to do a top five or six soon."
Cotton has a good idea, too, of what that list will look like.
Cotton has already set up a pair of official visits and the Ducks will be seen in both of them.
"I'm going on my official visit to Oregon when they play Washington (October 8) and then I set up Nebraska for when they play Oregon (September 17)," said Cotton.
Cotton plans to take all of his trips.
"I might end up taking all five of them," said Cotton. "I can get to UCLA easiest so I probably won't take an official visit there. I'll definitely take one to Colorado and the other ones will probably be to Arizona State and I might take one to Utah."
The Huskers have been picking up their recruitment of Cotton of late.
"Right now, Nebraska has really stepped up their recruitment a lot," said Cotton. "Coach (Brian) Stewart is the main one recruiting me but Coach (Mike) Riley is too."
Oregon has also been on him aggressively.
"Coach (John) Neal is my main recruiter at Oregon and they've been on my a lot," said Cotton. "That was my last visit (of spring)."
Colorado and Mike MacIntyre have been an active presence at Inderkum and Sacramento in general the past few years and the Buffs are prioritizing Cotton.
"Colorado, a lot of people are recruiting me," said Cotton. "Coach Chiv (Darren Chiaverini), Coach (Charles) Clark, Coach Mac. Coach (Jim) Leavitt too. He came by the school in the spring."
Arizona State and Utah likely will get officials from Cotton.
"Coach (T.J.) Rushing at Arizona State is mainly recruiting me and at Utah its the defensive coordinator, Coach (Morgan) Scalley," said Cotton.
Cotton visited UCLA unofficially twice in the spring and said he'll take another unofficial there instead of an official.
"Coach Angus (McClure) is mainly recruiting me now, but I still talk with Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin)," said Cotton. "I went there a couple times already so I've seen it but I probably won't take an official there, but just another unofficial."
Cotton thinks the Bruins' rivals could be next to offer.
"I think USC could be the next one to offer me," said Cotton. "Right after Bubba Bolden decommitted, their defensive coordinator (Clancy Pendergast) hit me up. So that could be soon. I'm waiting to see what they do."
Cotton said he's still enjoying the recruiting process, as hectic as it has been.
"I'm still enjoying it," said Cotton. "I'm still living the dream with it. It's still fun."
