Earlier this week Anthony Hines announced that he has scheduled his decision date, planning to announce on November 29th.
He has trimmed down his 90 offer list to a Top 10: Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA
The first piece of Hines' fall recruiting puzzle has been put in place. On Tuesday evening Scout was able to confirm that the five-star has scheduled his first official visit this weekend when Texas A&M hosts UCLA.
This visit will give Hines the opportunity to see two of the schools in his top ten.
He was last in College Station this summer. giving his mom -- Sussie Hines -- the chance to see the school up close and in person.
Hines believes that his mom's influence could weigh in on his final decision making process, so any chance she has to see colleges with him is important.
"She gave me the go ahead to go where I want," Hines said. "It is definitely a huge art and she obviously feels more comfortable with the schools around here, but the officials will give her a chance to see what is also outside of the state."
Hines plans to enroll at the college of his choice in January as an early enrollee to get a jump-start on his college career.
Hines is rated as the No. 1 ILB in the nation, the No. 19 overall prospect in the Scout Top 100. He has been selected to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Fla., January 1, 2017. The game will begin at 1:00 pm EST / 12:00 CST and air nationally on ESPN.
As a junior in 2015, Hines racked up 205 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss and eight sacks to earn All-District, All-State, Scout All-Midlands, Scout Underclassman All-American and USA Today All-American honors.
