The above video features season-opener footage of 2017 five-star inside linebacker Anthony Hines.
We expect a big year from five-star linebacker Anthony Hines, and from the looks of his season-opening contest this past weekend, he won't disappoint.
The No. 19 overall prospect in the 2017 Scout 300 and nation's top inside linebacker recorded 21 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble, according to the Plano (Texas) East High School coaching staff. Hines' forced fumble can be seen in the first clip of the above video.
Hines, who holds about 90 offers nationwide, told Scout national recruiting analyst Greg Powers on Tuesday night that his first official visit will be to Texas A&M this weekend, when the Aggies host UCLA in a marquee interconference season-opener. Like Texas A&M, UCLA is in Hines' top 10, which also includes Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, and Texas.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Hines is the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Texas. It won't be easy, but Hines will try to improve on his mammoth junior season, which saw him record 205 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and eight sacks.
Stick with Scout as we continue to monitor any developments with Hines, as well as his progress throughout the fall.
