On the team's mindset:

Right now, we're focused on UNLV and just trying to get a W. We'll attack this week hard, knowing we have a lot to improve on and then give our focus to UNLV.

On what they noticed on film:

Minor mistakes. We have to stay gap sound and make open field tackles, and we do that and we'll be pretty good.

On holding A&M's offense in the fourth:

It was trying to get our team back on top and get the game tied.

I think today we will look (at film).

On if he played much against them last year:

I played a lot of snaps last year. They have some athletes and did some trick plays against us. They're talented. We have to come with it.

On the defense:

It was good but not up to our standard. We gave up some big runs need to eliminate those big gains so we can be stronger as a run defense.

On Eddie Vanderdoes being back:

It's great. The whole D-Line, they did phenomenal and we have to eliminate the little things in our gaps so we don't give up big runs.

On blitzing:

It's up to the coaches but I'm fine with whatever. We have to get home on some of them.

On returning Deon Hollins and Takk McKinley:

With a pass rush, the quarterback gets the ball out quicker and feels the presence of the defense and having those two guys on the edges helps.

On Trevor Knight's overtime run:

Oh man, my heart dropped. I had faith in the offense. We couldn't get it done. It's alright, we'll make the corrections as a team and get better.

On playing Johnny Stanton in high school:

He's a good quarterback, a big guy, great competitor and has a great winning mentality.
