Bruins In Contact with 4-star WR Isaiah Hodgins

Sept. 9 -- Walnut Creek (Calif.) Berean Christian four-star receiver Isaiah Hodgins has been talking with UCLA coaches while he waits for an offer...

Walnut Creek (Calif.) Berean Christian receiver Isaiah Hodgins has locked in his first official visit and he'll take it this month.

Hodgins will visit Oregon State on September 24th when the Beavers host Boise State.

"I'm definitely looking forward to taking the visit," said Hodgins.  "Coach (Brent) Brennan and Coach (Dave) Baldwin have been recruiting me and are a big reason why I'm taking my visit."

Hodgins has plans to take a few more visits.

"I'm thinking about taking maybe 3-4 visits but I'm not sure about taking all five," said Hodgins.  "I will for sure visit Oregon and then Washington State.  I'll see what other schools recruiting me and maybe offer will do."

Hodgins said the Oregon trip is likely going to be on October 29th.

"I think it's going to be the 28th or 29th of October when Oregon plays Arizona State," said Hodgins.

Hodgins visited Eugene in the spring.

"I went on a visit up there and I loved it," said Hodgins.  "It was definitely a great time. I liked their campus and facilities and their coaches."

The one-time Washington State commit said he's seen plenty in Pullman to be familiar with them but plans to get back up there.

"I would definitely like to take a visit to Washington State, I just haven't penciled it in," said Hodgins.

Michigan offered Hodgins before his commitment to WSU and UCLA is also recruiting him, though they haven't offered yet.

"I've definitely talked with Michigan and UCLA a little more," said Hodgins.  "Coach (Jay) Harbaugh has been recruiting me at Michigan and (offensive analyst) Jimmie Dougherty has too."

UCLA had Hodgins on campus a couple of time this spring and he's staying in steady communication, though the Bruins have yet to offer.

"I talked with Coach Angus (McClure) and Coach Yarbs (Eric Yarber) a week ago, and we're staying in touch, DMng and texting," said Hodgins.  "They haven't offered yet, but they're still talking with me. If they want me to visit and want to recruit me, I could definitely see myself visiting."

Hodgins plans to graduate in December and enroll early in January, so a decision won't drag out until Signing Day.

"I definitely want to take some more time now but I don't have as much time as everybody because I'm going to be an early enrollee," said Hodgins.  "But it will be after my visits."

In his season opener, Hodgins had 16 catches for 250 yards with three touchdowns.
