Sept. 9 -- Check out where UCLA prospects will be playing this weekend throughout the country...

***Game of the Week:***  Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman vs. Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco

Scout’s defending national champions, Bishop Gorman, face St. John Bosco in one of the most heavily anticipated regional games in years.  While Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell will start for the Gaels, 2018 four-star quarterback and UCLA target Dorian Thompson-Robinson will play receiver, split out next to 2018 four-star tight end target Brevin Jordan.  Defensively, two more UCLA targets lead the Gaels, four-star safety Bubba Bolden and 2018 four-star linebacker Palei Gaoteote.  Across the field is a talented Bosco roster which features the No. 1 safety in 2018, UCLA recruit Jaiden Woodbey, plus more 2018 talent, like quarterback Re-Al Mitchell, who had a 98-yard touchdown run in his first start and may be the fastest quarterback in the Southland.

West Orange (Fla.) vs. Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips

UCLA’s newest commit, quarterback Austin Burton, looks to bounce back after their first loss of the season a week ago. But they’ll face a talented Dr. Phillips squad that features commits to Nebraska, NC State, South Florida and UCF.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial vs. Orange (Calif.) Lutheran

After a heartbreaking loss to IMG a week ago, Centennial will try to bounce back themselves when they play Orange Lutheran out of the Trinity League. Centennial will be led by UCLA commit Jaylan Shaw in the secondary. Meanwhile, Tanner McKee, Centennial’s four-star 2018 quarterback, has started the year strong.  And the Huskies also have 2018 four-star receiver Manuel Allen, who UCLA is watching early on. OLu has Washington commit Brandon McKinney in the secondary.

Santa Anta (Calif.) Mater Dei vs. La Mirada (Calif.)

The Monarchs have a ton of talent and a slew of prospects UCLA is recruiting, including Bruin commit Quentin Lake in the secondary.  Plus there are a number of other players the Bruins have offered in the 2018 and 2019 classes.  UCLA’s top in-state tackle prospect in 2018, four-star Tommy Brown, anchors the Monarchs’ offensive line while at receiver is 2018 four-stars Nikko Remigio and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who both have offers and 2019 prospect Horace McCoy.  The Matadores, who won the state title last year, have a strong squad coming back, with UCLA cornerback recruit Elijah Hicks, tight end prospect Sire Woods and Colorado commit Chase Newman.

Sierra Canyon stands 3-0, thanks to an efficient offense featuring UCLA offensive line verbal Kanan Ray and they meet a strong Grace Brethren team with Nevada commit Tucker Robertson and three-star tight end Noah Bean.

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit vs. Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic

The Holy War swung back to Jesuit last fall after Central Catholic was on a mini-winning streak.  Jesuit is led by UCLA commit Jaxson Kirkland on the offensive line and Oregon verbal Demetrius Douglas in the secondary as well as 2018 Scout 300 ATH Trey Lowe. Central Catholic has 2018 four-star linebacker Eli’jah Winston, who UCLA is recruiting.

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade vs. Valencia (Calif.)

Chaminade has two Scout 300 prospects in 2018 that UCLA has high on their board and with early offers, running back T.J. Pledger and defensive tackle Mykee Irving, to go with 2018 four-star quarterback Brevin White.

Calabasas (Calif.) vs. Los Angeles (Calif.) West Adams

Calabasas is loaded, featuring UCLA target Darnay Holmes , the No. 1 cornerback in the 2017 class nationally, plus 2018 four-star corner Bookie Radley-Hiles as well as a pair of Nebraska commits in quarterback Tristan Gebbia and receiver Keyshawn Johnson.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian vs. Montebello (Calif.) Cantwell-Sacred Heart

UCLA’s first commit to the 2017 class was Salesian linebacker Rahyme Johnson, and while he decommitted, the Bruins are back recruiting him and he and teammate Deommodore Lenoir, a commit to Oregon.
