UCLA appears to have survived a major injury scare Sunday.
Star defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes, who missed the second half of Saturday's victory against UNLV with a right knee injury, announced on his Twitter account that he should be good to go.
"To whom it may concern: Everything is OK with my knee, nothing more than a minor strain," Vanderdoes wrote. "The spirit of Harambe was looking out for me!!"
Vanderdoes suffered a left knee injury in the opener last year and missed the rest of the season. He was credited with an assisted tackle Saturday before leaving the action and returning to the sidelines in the second half with his right knee lightly wrapped with ice. Vanderdoes walked off the field after the game without a noticeable limp.
Without its powerful defender, UCLA struggled to stop the UNLV rushing attack, allowing five yards per carry and failing to get off the field on third downs.
