Four-Star Lineman Popo Aumavae Has Set Visits With Oregon and USC

Sep. 14 -- Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary's two-way lineman Popo Aumavae has locked in his first two official visit dates...

Evaluation Update:

Popo Aumavae is one of the region's top lineman on both sides of the ball. He's currently rated a four-star defensive tackle but could be an even better offensive guard in college and is getting looks at both positions right now.

Offensively, Aumavae plays tackle but projects more as an inside guy. He's a mauler who can dominate at the point of attack and shows better than average athleticism getting to the second level.

Defensively, he's a very strong kid who can take on a double down and still get a push. He does a nice job getting off blocks and shows good pursuit with the ability to make plays outside his area. He shows a surprisingly quick first step for a 300 pounder and a very good motor as well.

Recruiting Update:

Aumavae has set up his first two official visit dates with the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans. The lineman will the Ducks (Nov. 12) and the Trojans (Nov. 26).

Other schools in contention for a visit include the Michigan WolverinesMississippi Rebels and if they offer, the Ohio State BuckeyesUCLA is actively recruiting him as well and pushing for an official visit.
