UCLA Sees Five-Star Linebacker Palaie Gaoteote In Action

Sept. 15 -- UCLA linebackers coach Scott White was on the sidelines last week to get a close look at the top-rated linebacker in the 2018 class who holds the Bruins in high regard...

Five-star linebacker Palaie Gaoteote is off to a phenomenal start in his junior season at Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman and has the national interest from college coaches to validate his standing among the top prospects in the 2018 class.

There might not be a more physical linebacker in all the land and Gaoteote, the No. 11 overall recruit in his class, also has the cover ability to keep up with opponents down field. He has wreaked havoc as the centerpiece of a loaded Gorman defense, moving well from sideline to sideline and tracking ball carriers in the backfield.

On the recruiting front, Gaoteote told Scout he intends to take things slow but did comment on some of his latest scholarship offers, including Miami and Ohio State, as well as the two Los Angeles programs -- USC and UCLA -- that figure to be contenders for his signature down the road. View the video above to hear the latest in Gaoteote's recruitment.
