Defensive back Chaz Ah You is one of those safeties who does everything well. He's a physical player who will come up and hit you in run support but looks very fluid and comfortable dropping back in coverage and playing in space as well.
He's a sure tackler, very smart and plays with a high understanding of how to play the game. He shows great instincts on the field, plays the game hard and always seems to be around the ball making plays.
Frame wise, Ah You is a big safety who measured out at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds at the Opening Regional in Oakland last May. He clocked a 4.25 shuttle and jumped 37" in the vertical and in our eyes, was the top safety we saw at the event.
This season, Ah You has played a lot of offense and made a big impact on that side of the ball. He has made a ton of plays as a down field receiver but we like his upside best as a rangy free safety at the next level.
The athlete is rated the No. 2 safety in the region, the No. 116 overall recruit in the nation and has the talent to play for anyone in our eyes.
Ah You has 12 schools on his list but it sounds like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Stanford Cardinal and UCLA Bruins are the teams to beat. His father Jasen is on staff at BYU so you definitely can't rule out the Cougs in this one either. Ah You plans to take his LDS Mission immediately after graduation.
