One down, four to go for four-star defensive tackle Greg Rogers.
The No. 6-rated prospect at his position and No. 76 overall in the Scout 300 for the 2017 class took his first official visit to Oklahoma over the weekend and had a good experience despite the Sooners' blowout loss to Ohio State, writing on his Twitter account that he couldn't wait to return to Norman.
"OU has a really good staff," Rogers told Scout.com. "They treated me and my family well."
The Sooners are among the final five for Rogers, who intends to announce a college choice in early December.
This was the start of what figures to be a busy few months for the 6-foot-4, 298-pound lineman. Rogers is slated to check out Colorado next on Oct. 1 when they face Oregon State. After that, trips are lined up with Arizona State (Oct. 8), UCLA (Nov. 19) and USC (Nov. 26) before a scheduled commitment date of Dec. 10.
And though the Sooners made an impression early on, Rogers said he's sticking to his plan of seeing every finalist before settling on anything or naming any favorites.
"I'll still be taking all my officials and waiting until my decision date to commit," Rogers said.
