UCLA Offers Utah's No. 1 Tight End Carson Terrell

Sept. 24 -- With a four-star tight end already on board, UCLA turned its attention to another prospect at the position as it looks to add to the 2017 class...

UCLA extended a new scholarship offer Friday to a tight end prospect assistant coaches Marques Tuiasosopo and Rip Scherer saw in action last week while the team was in Utah to take on BYU.

With four-star Jimmy Jaggers already on board, the Bruins are in the market for another tight end in the 2017 class and turned their attention to three-star Carson Terrell of Lehi, Utah.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Terrell is rated the No. 1 tight end in his state and also holds offers from the likes of BYU, HawaiiKansasOregon State and Utah State. He has made recruiting stops at Boise State, BYU, Utah and Washington this calendar year, so he's not an unknown by any means.

Terrell is a fluid route runner with good hands, but probably needs to gain some mass to improve as a run blocker. He's got some good athleticism, though, and shows a feel four finding soft spots in coverage up the middle and the ability to go up for the football in traffic. On film, Terrell also displays the awareness to find his man and squares up nicely to block.
