On the defense stopping key opponents:

We’re confident in one another and believe in one another. We’re a really good team when we do things right. We have to keep doing what we’re doing.

On more reign when blitzing:

Its putting pressure on the quarterbacks and less pressure on the DBs. Getting to the quarterbacks, it forces them and it gets us more sacks. It’s going good.

On trusting the team:

We’re playing a similar team to BYU, a mobile quarterback and great skill guys.

On having a healthy defensive line:

Its good knowing we have so many dangerous guys every where. It’s hard for offenses to gain yards. Having those guys back helps us.

On being assigned to the quarterback:

Brandon Dawkins is a fast quarterback and very talented. Just  having that position gives our D-line freedom, knowing whoever has the quarterback has their backs. It gives them more freedom.

On if he’ll have that role again against Arizona:

Possibly. Depends on what he calls, but hopefully.

On how the defense has played overall:

We felt like as a defense, we let the team down so we came out hungry.  We went back in red zone in practice and pretended like it’s fourth quarter, get the stop. We put ourselves in game-time decision.

On compartmentalizing the loss to Stanford:

You have to look at the bigger picture- we want victories.  We could care less about stopping McCaffrey, we want to win. We let the loss from last week feed us. We don’t want to feel like we did last week and hopefully it shows out the rest of the season.
