Opening statement:

We have a great challenge this week and a big opportunity against Arizona State, a good team, and we've been on them since last night and today. It will be another great game, we always seem to have great games with these guys. We're excited about that.

On what the offense did to click in the second half:

We executed better. More assignment perfect, caught the ball, made plays.

We have to do a better job blocking things and running through the hole. We're constantly trying to look for improvement. We've got to do a better job blocking and running.

On if Nate Starks will be the guy going forward:

It's too early to say that right now.

On the fullbacks:

They're doing good. Cam couldn't play the first couple games, the concussion. Ainuu's been doing fine, he had a couple catches. We mix our personnel groups a lot. We use a lot of tight ends, three wides, but when they're in there, they do a good job.

On Darren Andrews' consistency:

He works hard.  He's dependable and catches it and is explosive and he really cares and prepares well. You're seeing a lot of that paying off. I thought he had a really good game on Saturday and it's fun to see him step up. And Kenny (Walker) and Ish (Adams) was doing a really nice job until he got injured.  It was great to see Theo come in and do some things as well.

On Kolton Miller and Ishmael Adams:

No updates on injuries yet. If they're ready to play Saturday, they'll play, if they're not, they won't. That's my standard answer.

On how USC stopped ASU:

USC did a nice job offensively of controlling the ball and the clock and defensively, they're a good team. They've got good players. When they lost Manny Wilkins, you prepare each week with a quarterback in mind and when the backup comes in, it changes things, maybe throws you off your rhythm. We know we'll get their very best and they'll get our very best and it will be another great Arizona State-UCLA game.

On if they did things different when UofA used different quarterbacks:

Not really. You can't really overhaul your offense. There isn't enough time to prepare two different schemes.

On Adarius Pickett as a returner:

We'll determine that as we go through the week. It will determine on Ish as well. But it's nice to have guys like Randall (Goforth) and Adarius and even Mossi (Johnson) back there that you know they're going to catch the ball, get it secure and get positive yards. A lot of the return game is guys blocking and I thought we did a good job of that Saturday night.
