UCLA Prospects In Games This Weekend - Week 6

Oct. 7 -- -- Check out where UCLA prospects will be playing this weekend throughout the country...

***Game of the Week:***  Corona (Calif.) Centennial vs. Corona (Calif.) Roosevelt

Centennial will be led by UCLA commit Jaylan Shaw in the secondary. Meanwhile, Tanner McKee, Centennial’s four-star 2018 quarterback, has started the year strong.  And the Huskies also have 2018 four-star receiver Manuel Allen, who UCLA is watching early on. Roosevelt has 2018 receiver target Chase Williams, a four-star who was offered at the Bruin Elite Camp, to lead their offense plus 2017 linebacker Richard Cage, who is on the Bruins linebacker board.  The Shaw-Williams matchup will probably be one of the best matchups of the weekend. 

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei vs. Santa Margarita (Calif.)

The Monarchs have a ton of talent and a slew of prospects UCLA is recruiting, including Bruin commit Quentin Lake in the secondary.  Plus there are a number of other players the Bruins have offered in the 2018 and 2019 classes.  UCLA’s top in-state tackle prospect in 2018, four-star Tommy Brown, anchors the Monarchs’ offensive line while at receiver is 2018 four-stars Nikko Remigio and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who both have offers and 2019 prospect Horace McCoy.  Santa Margarita has 2018 4-star tight end Jake Peters and 4-star athlete Malone Mataele.

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit vs. Beaverton (Ore.) Aloha

Jesuit is led by UCLA commit Jaxson Kirkland on the offensive line and Oregon verbal Demetrius Douglas in the secondary as well as 2018 Scout 300 ATH Trey Lowe, who has scored 18 touchdowns the last four weeks.

Redlands (Calif.) East Valley vs. Redlands (Calif.)

UCLA’s crown jewel of their class, five-star defensive end Jaelan Phillips has had a monster beginning to the season and REV takes on crosstown rival Redlands.  Phillips will likely matchup with Nevada offensive line commit Alfred Edwards. 

Roseville (Calif.) vs. Antelope (Calif.)

UCLA tight end commit Jimmy Jaggers has been getting it done on defense as well and he tries to help Roseville stay unbeaten this fall when they play Antelope. 

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman vs. Las Vegas (Nev.) Spring Valley

Scout’s defending national champions, Bishop Gorman, returns to play an in-state foe. While Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell will start for the Gaels, 2018 four-star quarterback and UCLA target Dorian Thompson-Robinson will play receiver, split out next to 2018 four-star tight end target Brevin Jordan.  Defensively, two more UCLA targets lead the Gaels, four-star safety Bubba Bolden and 2018 four-star linebacker Palei Gaoteote. Spring Valley has three-star corner Tony Wallace. 

Los Angeles (Calif.) vs. Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey

A pair of UCLA offerees lead each team’s defensive line.  Los Angeles has four-star defensive tackle Martin Andrus.  Dorsey counters with 2019 four-star Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly vs. Compton (Calif.)

Poly has UCLA recruits Cam McDonald (2018) at tight end and safety Josh Talbott (2017) 

Mission Viejo (Calif.) vs. Las Flores (Calif.) Tesoro

The Diablos have UCLA prospect Olaijah Griffin at corner from the 2018 class and 2018 four-star receiver Austin Osborne leading them on both sides. 

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle vs. Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley

De La Salle has defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa, a 2018 four-star who has a few early Pac-12 offers, including one from UCLA. 

Antioch (Calif.) vs. Oakley (Calif.) Freedom

Antioch features UCLA running back recruit Najee Harris, the No. 1 player in the country while Freedom has three-star running back Ronnie Rivers, the RB MVP at The Opening Oakland and three-star linebacker Kyle Harmon. 

Calabasas (Calif.) vs. Westlake (Calif.)

Calabasas is loaded, featuring UCLA target Darnay Holmes , the No. 1 cornerback in the 2017 class nationally, plus 2018 four-star corner Bookie Radley-Hiles as well as a pair of Nebraska commits in quarterback Tristan Gebbia and receiver Keyshawn Johnson. Holmes suffered a shoulder injury last week, though, and may be out. 

Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian vs. North Hollywood (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake

UCLA’s first commit to the 2017 class was Salesian linebacker Rahyme Johnson, and while he decommitted, the Bruins are back recruiting him and he and teammate Deommodore Lenoir, a commit to Oregon. 

Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) vs. Upland (Calif.)

Rancho Cucamonga has UCLA cornerback recruits Thomas Graham and Jaylon Redd from part of a loaded secondary featuring four Pac-12 recruits. Upland has 2019 quarterback prospect David Baldwin. 

Murrieta (Calif.) Valley vs. Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta

Murrieta Valley has two Power 5 receivers in Colorado commit Maurice Bell and 2018 four-star Marquis Spiker, who UCLA just offered last month and 2019 four-star quarterback Hank Bachmeier.  Vista Murrieta features Javelin Guidry Jr., a commit to Houston who is the son of former Bruin Javelin Guidry. 

Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral vs. Temecula (Calif.) Great Oak

Chaparral has 2018 offensive line target Justin Dedich and teammate Steven Jones, who the Bruins are watching, plus Cal commit and former UCLA recruit Michael Onyemaobi.  

La Mirada (Calif.) vs. Lakewood (Calif.) Artesia

The Matadores, who won the state title last year, have a strong squad coming back, with UCLA cornerback recruit Elijah Hicks, tight end prospect Sire Woods and Colorado commit Chase Newman.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco vs. Anaheim (Calif.) Servite

Bosco and their stacked roster, including 2018 safety Jaiden Woodbey, one of UCLA’s top targets, meets Servite, who has 2018 cornerback Julius Irvin.

Provo (Utah) Timpview and Bruin target Chaz Ah You play Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon.  Lehi (Utah) and new UCLA tight end offer holder Carson Terrell play Highland (Utah) Lone Peak.  Concord (Calif.) Clayton Valley and offensive lineman Jalen McKenzie play Orinda (Calif.) Miramonte.  Claremont (Calif.) and 2018 four-star linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu play West Covina (Calif.) South Hills. 2018 four-star safety Isaac Taylor and San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine face San Diego (Calif.) Madison. Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino and 2018 four-star running back Chris Brown meet Carlsbad (Calif.) La Costa Canyon.


West Orange (Fla.) and UCLA quarterback commit Austin Burton had their game cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew. Chaffey (Calif.) College and UCLA offensive line commit Ronald Rudd are off. Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon and UCLA commit Kanan Ray have the weekend off. Kahuku (Hawaii) and UCLA defensive end target Aliki Vimahi are off. West Jordan (Utah) and UCLA defensive end recruit Alden Tofa have a bye.
