Four-star DE Elijah Wade Adds UCLA Offer

Oct. 25 -- The No. 1-rated defensive end in the West region for the 2018 class picked up an offer from UCLA and spoke about where he stands in his recruitment...

Elijah Wade is steadily stacking up college options and the four-star defensive end is nowhere close to being finished.

UCLA became the latest school to offer the 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect from Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View on Monday afternoon, joining a list that already included the likes of ColoradoMichigan and USC. The Bruins hosted Wade's high school teammate, Greg Rogers, on an official visit this past weekend and have dropped by to check on the two linemen this season.

"It's a great offer to have. They do a great job of developing talent, especially along the defensive line," Wade told Scout.com. "It's just a great offer for me and I'm very excited.

"I got a chance to speak with coach Angus (McClure). We didn't really talk much about my skill set; we talked about the future and being able to play for a coach that has developed NFL talent and has the experience putting players in the league. Also, it's just an opportunity to go to a great school. I haven't been out there to look at the campus, but I've gotten an opportunity to speak with people that has seen it and I've heard nothing but great things. Greg has mentioned how beautiful the campus is and how everyone is like family down there."

Wade, the No. 1-rated defensive end in the West region and No. 155 overall prospect in the Scout 300 for the 2018 class, hopes to visit several schools, including UCLA, after the season.

"All my offers are standing out to me," Wade said. "I'm looking at every college the same right now. They are all a blessing for me.

"UCLA, Oklahoma, USC, Colorado, Michigan and UNLV have all stopped by. With USC, I camped there in the summer and I speak with coach (Kenechi) Udeze some times and we've got a good relationship so far. I'm pretty good with everyone down there. At Colorado, I talk to coach (Jim) Jeffcoat and coach (Corey) Edsall. I've got a great relationship with everyone over there, as well."

Wade could be categorized as an edge rusher with the versatility that allows him to put his hand in the dirt but also stand up in some packages. On film he shows the ability to take on multiple blockers while still generating a push and putting pressure on the quarterbacks.

And with offers rolling in now that some of his junior tape is making the round, Wade appears to be only getting started with the recruiting process.

"As of now, I don't have a date set when I want to make a decision, but I know that want to take my five official visits and do it sometime after my senior year," Wade said.
