On the spirit of the players after the bye:

I thought they came out with a real purpose. Yesterday helped us. We had two days off, yesterday and today they came out with a purpose.

On the fighting spirit of the team:

They’re going to fight. They fight and they hang in there. We’ll get it turned around.

On Eddie Vanderdoes:

We’ll give him a couple days. He had an ankle yesterday, stepped on someone’s foot, but he’ll be alright.

On Jayon Brown:

We ask him to do so much and he does it so well. HE comes out with a get better attitude, works on his craft and comes out with a great attitude every day.

On Takk McKinley:

I don’t try to compare people. Takk is an excellent football player and does a lot of great things for us. He’s consistent in what he’s doing, he gives us great effort and enthusiasm on the field. I think the one thing that has truly helped him is he understands what others are doing.  He understands pass protection schemes, how people are trying to block him.

On what Colorado does well:

Balance. They’re third in the conference and they have balance and do a great job of mixing it up. We’re going to have to fight our tails off.

On preparing for Colorado:

You get back down to the bases. Colorado will be a challenge for us. We knew that from last year.

On how effective Takk will be in the NFL:

The one thing about him is at the next level, the scheme he plays in.

On how much playing inside helped Takk a year ago:

I think it was a big help to him. We put him in tough situations last year and he was only 245 last year. He learned how to get in and get involved. It’s helped him a great deal.

On Nate Meadors:

Nate did practice today and we’re optimistic he’ll be able to play and cautious.
