Two-way standout Darnay Holmes came in to his senior season with a lofty reputation to live up to and has somehow managed to still exceed it.
The five-star corner, ranked No. 9 overall in the Scout 100, has made a noticeable jump in his overall explosiveness and athleticism and taken his game to another level. He has been both a shutdown corner, a big play receiver and dynamic in the return game. His top end speed and burst out of his cuts is noticeably faster and he is always good for at least 2-3 highlight reel plays every game.
On the recruiting front, Holmes has locked in a pair of official visits, both to Big 10 country.
"For those last two visits, I'm looking at Miami, Nebraska and USC. I'm planning to announce at the Army AA Game (Jan. 7) and I'm still planning to graduate early so I can enroll in time for spring ball."
Holmes already visited Michigan, Ohio State and Miami over the summer, has been to Nebraska multiple times over the last year and has been to UCLA and USC numerous times as well.
The Bruins have been a longtime leader here in our eyes but we also feel Michigan and Ohio State could give Holmes a lot to think about following his official visits.
