On helping Mike Fafaul get the win:
We go back to my freshman year when we were both on scout team. We hugged each other after the game and said we'd do this. I'm happy for him.
On his fumble:
I tried to make a move and tuck the ball at the same time. I have to do one thing before I do another. I'll make up for it next week.
On if he thought it was a fumble:
I knew I fumbled. Once you make a football move, it's a fumble if it comes out your hands. I know I fumbled.
On seeing his work load increase:
It's felt good. Taking more reps in practice and in games is always fulfilling. I'm happy.
On if there is an advantage having worked with Fafaul on scout team:
I don't want to say it's an advantage but if you're throwing with the same guy for two-three years, the chemistry will be there. Plus Mike is a loveable guy on the field and off the field.
On having several former Serra teammates on USC:
It will be fun. I will get to play against some of my high school teammates, Pop Warner teammates. It will be a big game, definitely.
On how big the UCLA-USC game is:
The game is big just by itself. It's USC-UCLA. It's Rivalry Week. It's the battle of L.A. The game is definitely big.
On if they have a bitter taste from last year's USC loss:
What happened in the past is in the past. We're not worried about last year. Obviously last year we lost, but this year we have a new mindset going into the game.
On getting a win over Oregon State:
Getting a win any week is great. It definitely gets your confidence up and the teams confidence up. It's good for everybody.
