4-Star Junior LB Dallas Gant Has Several Great Recruiting Options

Nov. 15 -- One of the nation's top 2018 outside linebacker prospects, Dallas Gant, is coming off an amazing junior season and will now turn his attention to recruiting...

Four-star junior Dallas Gant is currently listed as the number-11 outside linebacker in America for the class of 2018, and the Toledo (OH) St. Johns product continues to improve each year.

Gant holds offers from the likes of Michigan StateNotre DameOhio StatePenn State and UCLA , and it's no surprise that he holds all five schools in high regard.

To date, Gant has visited Penn State, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Ohio State for games this season. He is also hoping to visit both Michigan State and UCLA in the coming months.

"I was at Ohio State last weekend for their game with Nebraska, and I'm going to go back there for the game with Michigan," Gant stated. "It was great being at Ohio State, and the atmosphere was amazing. The players were ready to go, and I liked seeing the coaches again."

"I did speak to (linebackers coach) Luke Fickell a little, and we talk occasionally during the season," he added. "I think he's a great coach, and we are building a great relationship. Ohio State is not pressuring me to commit, and I like the program a lot."

His visits to Penn State and Notre Dame have both schools high on Gant's list, and he was actually in South Bend twice to see the Fighting Irish play.

"I was at Penn State when they played Ohio State, and that was a great experience," Gant explained. "I love Penn State and it was an incredible atmosphere being there for the white-out. It's a great school and I'm considering them highly. I will probably visit there again after the season."

"Being at Notre Dame twice this year was great, and I think so much of that school," he continued. "They had a rough year, but that doesn't affect me because it's still a great program. They have some issues to solve, but I'm sure they're going to be fine going forward."

Gant has been high on Michigan State from the beginning, and UCLA has recently put themselves in contention to land the four-star linebacker. He has not been able to visit either school for games this season.

"Michigan State has always been one of my favorite schools and I love the program," Gant said. "I couldn't get there for a game, but I will be visiting there soon after the season is over for sure. I talk with them fairly often during the year."

"Another school I'm definitely considering highly is UCLA, and I'm looking into them closely," he admitted. "I have an offer from them, and I've been talking to (linebackers coach) Scott White. I've never been to Los Angeles, but I'm very interested in seeing their campus and plan on getting there in the spring."

With so many great choices, Gant understands this is going to be a tough decision, but he has a definite time frame in mind for making his selection.

"I want to make my decision before my senior season starts for sure," Gant stressed. "I want to get out and see all these schools again, probably some junior days next winter. There's no school I'm hoping will offer, because these schools all provide everything I need."

"My decision will be hard, but the things I'm looking for are a great education, a good football program, and a place that I can feel I'm with my brothers for four years," he concluded.
