UCLA Prospects In Games This Weekend - Week 12

Nov. 18 -- -- Check out where UCLA prospects will be playing this weekend throughout the country...

***Game of the Week:*** Corona (Calif.) Centennial vs. West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade

Centennial will be led by UCLA commit Jaylan Shaw in the secondary. Meanwhile, Tanner McKee, Centennial’s four-star 2018 quarterback, has started the year strong.  And the Huskies also have 2018 four-star receiver Manuel Allen, who UCLA is watching early on.  Chaminade has key 2018 Bruin target T.J. Pledger at running back, 2018 three-star receiver Michael Wilson as well as 2018 four-star quarterback Brevin White.  Defensively, UCLA has offered defensive lineman Mykee Irving. 

Portland (Ore.) Jesuit vs. Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic

Jesuit is led by UCLA commit Jaxson Kirkland on the offensive line and Oregon verbal Demetrius Douglas in the secondary as well as 2018 Scout 300 ATH Trey Lowe, though Lowe is still out with a rib injury.  Central Catholic has Oregon State commit Travis Mackay on the offensive line and 2018 four-star linebacker Eli’jah Winston, who UCLA is watching closely, having recruited his older brother, Lamar, heavily before he signed with Oregon. 

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei vs. Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta

The Monarchs, the top seed in the CIF-SS D-I playoffs, have a ton of talent and a slew of prospects UCLA is recruiting, including Bruin commit Quentin Lake in the secondary.  Plus there are a number of other players the Bruins have offered in the 2018 and 2019 classes.  UCLA’s top in-state tackle prospect in 2018, four-star Tommy Brown, anchors the Monarchs’ offensive line while at receiver is 2018 four-stars Nikko Remigio and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who both have offers and 2019 prospect Horace McCoy.  Vista Murrieta has Houston commit Javelin Guidry Jr., the son of former Bruin DB Javelin Guidry and his 2018 three-star brother Elisha Guidry at receiver.

Redlands (Calif.) East Valley vs. La Habra (Calif.)

UCLA’s five-star defensive end commit Jaelan Phillips tries to put REV in position to win their second state title in three years, but first they have to get through the CIF-SS D-II playoffs and they visit La Habra in the quarterfinals.

Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon vs. Redondo (Calif.)

UCLA commit Kanan Ray and Sierra Canyon visit Redondo and 2018 three-star running back Jermar Jefferson in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS D-IV playoffs.

Calabasas (Calif.) vs. Santa Maria (Calif.) St. Joseph

Calabasas is loaded, featuring UCLA target Darnay Holmes , the No. 1 cornerback in the 2017 class nationally, plus 2018 four-star corner Bookie Radley-Hiles as well as a pair of Nebraska commits in quarterback Tristan Gebbia and receiver Keyshawn Johnson. Plus they have 2020 receiver Johnny Wilson, who was offered by UCLA after Jim Mora saw him in person late last month. And they also have 2018 outside linebacker Reggie Hughes, who was offered by UCLA last week. 

Murrieta (Calif.) Valley vs. Norco (Calif.)

Murrieta Valley has two Power 5 receivers in Colorado commit Maurice Bell and 2018 four-star Marquis Spiker, who UCLA just offered last month and 2019 four-star quarterback Hank Bachmeier. Norco (Calif.) has 2018 three-star running back Travis Dye, the younger brother of former Bruin safety Tony Dye.

Mission Viejo (Calif.) vs. Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)

The Diablos have UCLA target Olaijah Griffin, the four-star 2018 cornerback, in their secondary and they take on Rancho Cucamonga, which features Griffin’s Ground Zero teammates Jaylon Redd and his four-star teammate Thomas Graham.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle vs. Concord (Calif.) Clayton Valley

UCLA will have targets on both teams in the semifinals of the CIF-NCS Open Division playoffs.  De La Salle has UCLA 2018 four-star defensive tackle target Tuli Letuligasenoa while Clayton Valley has 2017 four-star offensive lineman Jalen McKenzie.

Corona (Calif.) Roosevelt vs. Redlands (Calif.)

Roosevelt has 2018 receiver target Chase Williams, a four-star who was offered at the Bruin Elite Camp, to lead their offense plus 2017 linebacker Richard Cage, who is on the Bruins linebacker board. Redlands has Nevada commit Alfred Edwards on the offensive line.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian vs. Riverside (Calif.) King

UCLA’s first commit to the 2017 class was Salesian linebacker Rahyme Johnson, and while he decommitted, the Bruins are back recruiting him and he and teammate Deommodore Lenoir, a commit to Oregon.

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman vs. Las Vegas (Nev.) Faith Lutheran

Scout’s defending national champions, Bishop Gorman, continues their march through the state playoffs. While Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell will start for the Gaels, 2018 four-star quarterback and UCLA target Dorian Thompson-Robinson will play receiver, split out next to 2018 four-star tight end target Brevin Jordan. Defensively, two more UCLA targets lead the Gaels, four-star safety Bubba Bolden and 2018 four-star linebacker Palaie Gaoteote.

Antioch (Calif.) vs. San Ramon (Calif.) California

Antioch features UCLA running back recruit Najee Harris, the No. 1 player in the country, who UCLA had in for a visit last weekend and plays Cal Hi in the NCS D-I quarterfinals.

Los Angeles (Calif.) vs. Los Angeles (Calif.) Fairfax

Los Angeles and 2017 four-star defensive tackle and UCLA recruit Martin Andrus take on Fairfax in the City Section D-II quarterfinals. 

Los Angeles (Calif.) Hawkins vs. Canoga Park (Calif.)

Hawkins, with UCLA receiver targets Joseph Lewis, Jalen Hall and Eric Fuller try to win their first ever City Section title and they meet Canoga Park, which features three-star athlete Chris Lewis.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey vs. Los Angeles (Calif.) Garfield

Dorsey features the top prospect in the West in 2019 in Kayvon Thibodeaux from Dorsey and 2019 running back Charles Mincy. 

Buena Park (Calif.) vs. Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison

UCLA targets Elijah Gates, a 2017 four-star cornerback and Devon Cooley, a 2018 four-star receiver, continue the CIF playoffs against Edison. 

Kahuku (Hawaii) vs. Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis

UCLA defensive end recruit Aliki Vimahi and his Red Raider team, coached by former Bruin Vae Tata, meet St. Louis in the Hawaii state championship game.  St. Louis is led by Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback.

San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine vs. Point Loma (Calif.)

UCLA 2018 four-star safety recruit Isaac Taylor and St. Augustine meet Point Loma in the first round of the San Diego Section D-I playoffs.

West Orange (Fla.) and UCLA quarterback commit Austin Burton. Roseville (Calif.) and UCLA tight end commit Jimmy Jaggers.  Chaffey (Calif.) College and UCLA offensive line commit Ronald Rudd. West Jordan (Utah) and UCLA defensive end target Alden Tofa. Lehi (Utah) and UCLA tight end target Carson Terrell. Claremont (Calif.) and 2018 four-star linebacker target Solomon Tuliaupupu. Provo (Utah) Timpview and Bruin safety target Chaz Ah You. Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino and 2018 running back Chris Brown.
