After having to re-schedule a couple of earlier official visits to Florida and Texas A&M, Scout 300 linebacker Rahyme Johnson was able to hit the road over the weekend and checked out Oregon State.

"I liked the visit way more than I expected, I'm definitely going to look closely at them when making a decision," Johnson said. "The game atmosphere was the best part for me. It was pouring rain and the stadium was still rocking the whole game.

"I felt very comfortable there, the city of Corvallis is a lot different than Los Angeles but I liked it. It's a unique place, a cool college town and I fit in well there. I like the coaching staff a lot and get along well with them. Coach Brennan is my main recruiter and he's real cool. That's my guy right there, we click very well."

His fit in the defense was another plus for Johnson.

"They want me at their "F" backer spot," Johnson said."It's a position that basically does everything. You rush the quarterback, drop back in space and play man to man, it's basically what I do now at Salesian so it's a great fit for me. Like I said, I really had a great visit and Oregon State is definitely high on my list."

Up next for Johnson will be a host of home visits this week.

"I have someone coming in almost every night," Johnson said. "Washington State is coming Monday, UCLA is coming Tuesday, Arizona State will be here Thursday and Oregon State comes on Friday. I'm still talking with NebraskaFlorida and Texas A&M as well but haven't locked in dates with them yet.

"I still want to take a few more official visits as well. I had to cancel two trips to Florida because of the Hurricane and then we had a playoff game on a Saturday so hopefully I can lock that in and I still want to visit A&M too. I'll take an unofficial visit to UCLA and I've already been there a ton of times. Once I'm done with the trips, I'll sit down and evaluate where the best spot for me will be."
