Evan Fields is Wrestling with Decision in Front of His Announcement

Jan. 30 -- The countdown timer is about to hit zero and four-star safety Evan Fields will have to pick his school. But less than 12 hours away he is wrestling with that final call...

Evan Fields, a 6-foot-1, 187-pound safety from Midwest City (Okla.) High will be making his commitment tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM CST at the high school Performing Arts Center.

He is down to six schools and all six will be represented with a hat on the table.

Arizona State, Kansas StateNotre DameOregonTCU and UCLA

Fields took visits to only four of the final six, but he says Oregon and TCU have stayed on his list and are legit contenders.

"Those are two of my favorite schools of all time," Fields said, "and I have a really good relationship with both staffs."

We asked Fields to tip his hand. Is there a true leader as his head hits the pillow for the final night's rest before the decision?

"It's a very close race between all six schools," Fields answered. "It's an extremely hard decision. I won't get any sleep tonight. I'm getting closer to figuring it out but I will be all set come tomorrow."

Fields picked up new offers from schools like Florida and Missouri this week pushing his offer total towards the 35 range.

He recently was named a Scout four-star prospect and checks in as the No. 6 prospect in a loaded OKPreps 2017 cycle.

Fields racked up 81 tackles and two interceptions in a seven game senior season, averaging an 11.57 tackles per game.
