Although he is still only a sophomore with two high school seasons remaining, Fort Lauderdale (FLA) University School defensive back Joshua Sanguinetti has already collected nearly 20 scholarship offers.
Blessed with great speed and length, Sanguinetti is the type of defensive back prospect college coaches are looking for. He is also dynamic with the football in his hands.
"I think I have 14 offers right now, but there might be a few more," Sanguinetti stated. "I think I'm an athlete, so I can play anywhere on the field. I have good size, and I can make plays all over the field. The schools sticking out to me right now would be Ohio State, UCLA and Miami (Fl),"
He talked about what he likes about the schools he is currently favoring.
"Distance from home won't be a problem for me at all, and I'm just looking for a place where I can play early and where they have high academic standards," he noted. "I visited Ohio State before for a basketball tournament, and I'm going back there this spring."
"With Ohio State, it's all about Urban Meyer being a winning coach and how he puts guys in the NFL," he added. "UCLA has everything I'm looking for, a great campus, great academics and they play in a great league with a lot of speedy players. A lot of players from Florida have done well in the PAC-12."
"Miami is a school I'm very familiar with, and I like how Coach (Mark) Richt is changing the program for the better," Sanguinetti admitted. "Every player there knows what's expected from them, and that's to win in the Miami tradition. Being from South Florida, I like everything about the program."
