We had a chance to see a lot of running back T.J. Pledger over the last couple of years when he played for West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade before heading out to IMG and he never disappointed.
Pledger is one of the nation's top running back prospects with a nice blend of quickness, change of direction, decisiveness, power and speed. He's exceptional out of the backfield as a pass catcher, dynamic in space and a threat to score from anywhere on the field.
Pledger has a host of schools heavily recruiting him but he cut his list to eight schools earlier today.
"I'm down to Clemson, Georgia, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and UCLA," Pledger said. "All but Clemson have offered but that should come in the Spring. I just visited Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee last week and loved all three schools. I didn't have any of them on my list before the visit but I'm definitely considering all of them heavily now.
"My next visit will be to Oklahoma on the 24th. I'll also visit UCLA in a few weeks when I'm back home for Spring Break but that's about all I have set up right now. I'm an early enrollee so I'll be making a commitment pretty soon. I don't have an exact date but I think it will be sometime after our Spring Ball is over."
Pledger has already visited Notre Dame (last Spring) and has some strong ties with Nebraska. He's close with recent Husker signees Tyjon Lindsey and Keyshawn Johnson and refers to former Chaminade and Nebraska RB Terrell Newby as a 'big brother.'
