On being back at practice:

It feels good, just being back on the football field. Being back with my teammates, its always good to get back here with my guys. Get the first day in the books, I feel like it was a good one.

On the number change:

I've been wearing No. 2 since I was 10 years old and I felt like it was time for a change.  Four was open and my dad wore it so I figured I'd wear it.  It's a cool number too.

On the return of Mique Juarez:

It is real good, another asset to the team. He's still trying to find his way, but he's a helluva player and we're happy to have him.

On how Josh Rosen looked:

He looked great. Him being out has him hungry to show what he can do and it starts out here against us. I'm competing against him every day.  I've always thought he was a great quarterback and a great person, so I'm happy to have him back to see what he does.

On Darnay Holmes:

Man, you know he plays in the DB group so it's great to have him there. He's a great athlete, great learner, he soaks up the game pretty fast and I can't wait to see what he does come September 2nd.

On if Holmes can make an impact as a freshman:

That's up to Coach Meat, but he's learning fast. Anything can happen between now and fall camp. He's competing his tail off and doing what he needs to do.

On taking on a leadership role:

I just try to embody a lot of stuff those guys taught me as a freshman and sophomore. I try to pick up some of their work ethic, Fabian was a hard worker, same with Randall. Same with what they taught me, I try to teach the younger dudes.
