4-star UCLA RB Prospect Chris Brown Has a Few Standing Out

May 12 -- Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino four-star running back Chris Brown has a few schools standing out to him...

Oceanside (Calif.) El Camino running back Chris Brown is the West's top back in this class.

The four-star has double-digit offers and has had a number of schools drop by this spring.

"I have a total of 14 offers right now," said Brown.  "Standing out is UCLACaliforniaUtah and San Diego State," said Brown.

Brown landed his first offer from UCLA last June and visited unofficially in February.  He was back in Westwood late last month.

"I went to the UCLA Spring Game," said Brown. "I thought it was really cool to see the athletes compete there."

Running backs coach DeShaun Foster and linebackers coach Scott White, a San Diego native and the area recruiter, are the primary points of contact for Brown.

"Coach White came by the school this spring already," said Brown, who said Foster will be by later in the spring.

"Utah, Utah State, Northern Arizona, San Jose State, San Diego State, UCLA, Army, Arizona StateColorado and Fresno State have all come by this spring," said Brown.

Brown also made it over to San Diego State this spring.

"I thought the San Diego State visit was a good experience and a nice school," said Brown.

Utah and Cal have also prioritized Brown.

"Coach Fred Whittingham from Utah came by and Coach Beau Baldwin from Cal came by," said Brown.

Brown said he'll start narrowing his list down in the coming weeks.

"I will most likely have a top five after spring," said Brown.  "I have a good relationship with pretty much all of the schools.  But I don't have a time frame yet for when I'll commit."
