We have been talking about quarterback Aaron McLaughlin for such a long time now it is hard to believe he is still only in middle school.
For the fourth year in a row we were able to see McLaughlin take part in the annual Steve Clarkson Trendsetters QB Camp and as always, he did not disappoint. Throwing in the top group that included the top two rated quarterbacks in the nation, Trevor Lawrence and Matt Corral, McLaughlin more than held his own.
At 6-5, 215 pounds, McLaughlin already has a college body with a ton of room to add as much weight as a program wants to put on him. He's very mechanically sound and is way ahead of the game in terms of his polish, accuracy and timing. He can make every throw right now, is a plus athlete and will draw a lot of Drew Bledsoe comparisons as he gets older.
On the recruiting front, McLaughlin is already nearing double digit scholarship offers with the Maryland Terrapins and UCLA Bruins being his most recent. He plans to camp with UCLA and USC and will visit Florida State as well.
